Be sure to identify which courses at our college are equivalent to the prerequisites. If you have questions about course equivalencies, reach out to the university you plan to apply to.
    • Maintain a Strong GPA: Most universities require a minimum GPA for transfer students. Aim for a GPA of 3.5 or higher, but keep in mind that competitive programs may require a higher GPA.
    • Get Involved: Participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, or volunteer work. This can enhance your application and show your commitment to your field of study.
    • Prepare Your Application Materials: Start gathering your transcripts, letters of recommendation (if applicable), and personal statement early. Make sure your application reflects your academic achievements and future goals.

There are three types of majors at UW: open, minimum requirements, and capacity-constrained. Some majors are more competitive and have limited space, so it’s a good idea to have a back-up plan in case your first-choice major is highly competitive. You can find specific requirements for each major on UW's majors page.
